Waukesha, Wisconsin - Ticino Mondo Holdings, LLC, an investment holding company, has acquired the Innovative Plastic Technologies assets in suburban Milwaukee and formed Acrylics USA, LLC to operate the plant.
According to Don Mastaglio, U.S. Manager, “Acrylics USA has invested over $600,000 cleaning, updating and upgrading this $3.0 million dollar facility. The upgraded plant is now capable of producing over 5,250,000 lbs or 6,000,000 plus sq. ft. of acrylic sheet per year. We now have 36,000 square feet, six 6 ton curing ovens, and racking and molds to make 25 tons of acrylic per cycle.”
Acrylics USA has developed proprietary technology to manufacture specialty acrylic sheets for a variety of applications. One Acrylics USA technology makes it economical and practical to manufacture as little as one acrylic sheet in a custom color. Customers can order one sheet matched to a color instead of the traditional 2,000 lb. minimum usually required by manufacturers. The company also has the technology to make custom colored products that generate a concentrated neon brilliance without requiring any power.
Acrylics USA ’s main product is high-impact resistant, high clarity acrylic sheets that transmit UV light. Theses sheets are proven to withstand extended exposure to UV light without yellowing, cracking or showing any sign of aging or loosing their ability to transmit UV light. Applications for this product are clear sheets used in sun tanning beds, sunrooms and green house structures.
Mastaglio notes that Acrylics USA has retained critical hands-on operational personnel who have over 103 years of combined experience in the cast acrylics business. The company can expand the facility on adjacent land allowing the plant to more than double it’s capacity. Mastaglio feels that having the only cell cast plant in the Midwest gives Acrylics USA a big logistical and strategic advantage – especially for upper Midwest customers. |
